Looking for an evening out with friends? A great date place? A place to pick up after work? Dominion Square Tavern can meet all of those needs– and more! As soon as you walk through the door, you feel like you’ve been transported to a different time and place. The restaurant has many original elements that date back to its original incarnation during the Roaring 20’s. If you have a minute, we encourage you to read about it HERE. Finished? Our city is so fucking cool.

The Tavern, which offers “bistro-style dishes with an accessible French Canadian palate […] is also notably infused with a British sensibility.” It it ever! White uniforms, aprons, black vests– lovely!

Deviled Egg

We were a group of 5 last week and as we were celebrating a dear friend’s upcoming nuptials, we weren’t really being budget-conscious. Appetizers range in price from $4-$22 and mains from $15-$42. They also have an amazing cocktail list and pretty much anything else you might be looking for (of the alcoholic variety).

For appetizers, we sampled deviled eggs ($4), a Scotch egg with Swedish sauce ($13), and some salads ($6). What is a Scotch egg? A hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, coated in breadcrumbs and baked. We suspect ours may have been fried a little… either way– awesome!

For the mains, there were: pulled pork sandwiches ($18) and Bangers & Mash ($22).

Pims all around for beverages to round out the British theme.

Pulled Pork

And for dessert– sticky toffee pudding. We were like ninjas on that shit! I couldn’t even get a picture before the forks were in the food.
