If you like tacos and Hip Hop (and really, who doesn’t?), don’t miss ELEMENTAZIKA: a free taco BBQ happening in NDG park this Saturday. There’s nothing like a good taco to enhance your listening experience! The free event, put together by Elementality and Prevention CDN/NDG, offers a number of perks, including musical performances, break dance competitions, graffiti murals on trucks, live art and⎯you guessed it⎯tacos (sold on the spot).

And did we mention it’s free?

In celebration of Hip Hop blog Elementality’s third anniversary, the BBQ is also a major event for Montreal’s Hip Hop You Don’t Stop urban arts festival. Providing a platform for local artists as well as showcasing some bigger acts, the festival is set to take over NDG and Côte-des-Neiges this Friday and Saturday (September 19th⎯20th).

For its ninth annual installment, HHYDS will open with Girlz n’ Hip Hop: an evening of documentary screenings, discussion panels and performances by local female talent. Intended to highlight the contributions of women to Hip Hop culture, the night will cover everything from rap to soul, spoken word to R&B.  The show begins at 5 pm in la a maison de la culture Côte-des-Neiges on Friday!
