[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]ontreal is notorious for its cuisine, its culture, its language, and its people. As you walk through the downtown and surrounding, eclectic neighbourhoods, you get the impression that you have fallen into a region caught between European and North American influences. It becomes hard to locate the foundation of the place in this ever shifting cityscape.
