Instagrammers, whether you like it or not, are some of the most influential photographers of our age. We wanted to get to know the personalities behind the cameras, so we reached out to a few phone photographers who have been capturing their own unique beauty. These individuals have been hard at work shooting some of Montreal’s best sights, from dawn until dusk, across our city’s diverse landscapes.

Chloe Crane-Leroux@Chloecleroux, is a fashion photographer from Montreal, currently living in New York City. If you like minimal, bold compositions and clean colour palettes, she’s one instagrammer you should definitely follow!

Q: What are some of your favourite Montreal spots?

A: My two favourite areas in the city are the Mile-End and Old Montreal. Since I’ve been living in New York, I can easily see that Montreal is so much trendier and more hipster than NYC, and I miss that. I love our Montreal vibe. Our style and way of thinking is so effortless and cool, that’s why I need to come back every month to get a dose of our fantastic city.

A: I’ve been taking fashion photography for the past four years, but I’ve been taking photographs for as long as I can remember. I love how my job is also my passion and that I am doing what I love every single day. What a gift! My passion has led me to earn a technical degree at Dawson College in Photography, and continue a BFA at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City. I have so much support in my life for what I do and I’m so grateful.

A: Fashion photography is my main field, but I love food photography. I have this passion for food, so styling it and photographing it is so much fun to me. But for my Instagram, I kind of create this lifestyle, so I post anything that happens during my day; whether I go out for Brunch, shoot some street style, go to a cool store or have a cup of coffee.

A: I don’t really have a process, I take what I love and what I think looks good. But I’m super picky about my layout, and how it looks in the gallery. I have this obsession with keeping a clean color palette.
