First, we want to thank you for the support you have given us over the past three years. In collaboration with our wonderful team of contributors and many local artists, creators, makers, and doers, we have been striving to bring you content worthy of this incredible city. It has been a learning experience and a lot of fun, but it hasn’t always been easy.
On April 16, 2015, our publication was hacked by an individual claiming to be associated with “Anonymous Tunisia.” In reality, we were targeted by an individual who enjoys destroying others’ work for fun and for money — we provided neither.
After a surreal day, a long week, and a few phone calls we regained control, ramped up our security, and restored what had been lost.
This set us a step back, but we learned some important lessons that we hope will take us many steps forward. Having the site momentarily erased raised a lot of questions about our future direction, but when the site came back online, you proved that we are more than just a database. We are a community.
With that in mind, we want to celebrate you and everything you’ve done for us. Heading into the summer we will work to bring you the best content, but we will also look to get more involved with your community through collaborations, pop-ups, performances, parties, and much, much more. So look forward to an eventful summer with The Main.
We hope you’re as excited as we are.
