You may not be heading back to school this fall, but that shouldn’t keep you from continuing to pursue invaluable learning experiences. It seems that many Montrealers agree and, thanks to the minds behind Dynamic/MTL and the creative space at La Gare, you can now enroll in the kind of workshops you always wished you’d been able to take.

Introducing DynamicLabs: a new learning initiative featuring workshops on everything digital, right in the heart of the Mile-End. If you’re strapped for time, but are looking for the skills to take your business to the next level, these intensive weekend workshops are the perfect opportunity to learn. They cater to people of all levels of ability, and provide the fundamental skills to succeed in a variety of digital fields. In providing local entrepreneurs with these skills, DynamicLabs hopes to accelerate Montreal’s digital industry through “advanced, accessible and beautifully-designed training experiences.”

DynamicLabs DynamicLabsThe workshops take place at La Gare, a collaborative workspace in the Mile-End, that we assure you looks nothing like the lecture halls of your youth. Whats more, the workshops—ranging from topics such as Digital Media Fundamentals with Khoi Truong (coming up soon on September 19th!), the director of media and data optimization at L’Oréal Canada, to Content Strategy for Mobile with Karen McGrane, an author, speaker, and Managing Partner at Bond Art + Sciencepromise to host fewer than 30 people, so you’re guaranteed a hands-on learning experience. Whether you’re looking to start a business, or just improve your skills, these speakers have a huge depth of real world digital media experience to draw on and are sure to know the in’s and out’s of the industry.

Put together by two Montreal initiatives that are truly dedicated to building the local startup community, the partnership behind DynamicLabs couldn’t be more perfect. For Dynamic/MTL, a popular talk series started by Dynamo that invites speakers from the digital and creative industries to share their projects and experiences, the workshops are a natural next step in their goal to provide Montrealers with alternative sources of education. And when it comes to location, La Gare—home to almost a hundred workstations for local entrepreneurs, designers, artists, and small startup teams—seems to be the perfect fit.

DynamicLabsDynamicLabsBut at the end of the day, it’s the networking opportunities these workshops bring that may prove to be most valuable; along with providing participants with invaluable skillsets, DynamicLabs brings together professionals from all over the city, provide exposure to a huge network of startups and community of creatives coming out of Montreal. So don’t miss your chance to make some great contacts while learning priceless, specific skills from the best of the best — check out DynamicLabs’ full list of future topics and be sure to sign up for their first workshop, Digital Media Fundamentals, on September 19th.
