We love Instagram and we love our city, so our preference for these ten Instagrammers needs no explanation. These accounts show what it’s like to live in the heart of Montreal, whether it’s the hard cutting lines of @montrealisms, or the fashion intermixed with cityscapes of @chloecleroux. We’ve compiled a selection of our favorite accounts that make us pretty damn happy to call Montreal home. Take a look at their galleries and discover the most scenic corners of the Montreal lifestyle: where to explore, eat, shop, and play.
@Montrealismes: Vincent Brillant
Check out @Montrealismes and you might just find a picture of your own stairway. This Instagrammer captures Montreal’s unique homes, stairwells, and colourful corners, in their best light.
@Fleurde.Lys: Naomi Fontaine
Naomi Fontaine creates pure magic with her iPhone 5. She captures Montreal in neutral tones, wether it be at a cafe or Old Port, she always makes Montreal look like a little soho.
@Thefashionmedley: Elif Filyos
Intermixing fashion, cafes and street scenes, Elif Filyos aka thefashionmedley is most notable for her beautiful white bordered photos and the astounding rate at which she frequents arts cafe.
@Skradz: Andrew Tchernilevskii
Ever the traveler, @Skradz’s feed is an ideal source of inspiration for the Montrealer who loves a good day trip. Whether its Lac Ouareau, Mont Tremblant, or just a little trip to Atwater Market, @Skradz has it all.
Don’t be fooled by the current state of his feed- when @Drowster isn’t travelling through Indonesia, this youngster is one of Montreal’s finest Instagrammers (especially if you’re a fan of some good old industrial lines.)
Francis Duval, is a true testament to “having an eye”. With just the power of his Iphone and minimal editing, he manages to show the true beauty of Montreal in real time.
@Yellowillow: Anne McIsaac
True to her name Anne McIsaac, else wise known as @yellowwillow, has a feed filled with saturated yellow tones that is sure to make even the biggest scrooge a little bit happier. It might also cause you to start noticing all of Montreal’s yellow doors, but we don’t see much harm in that.
@Ceeesk: Celia Spenard-Ko
@Ceeesk is a fan of blue. And minimalism. And weird beautiful angles. But trust us when we say she knows where to find Montreal’s coolest little corners and new restaurants galore.
@Safesolvent: Martin Reisch
Although Martin Reisch won’t direct you to the nearest cafe or best new restaurant, he captures the natural and industrial beauty of Montreal and its environs so well, that you’ll find yourself not really wanting to be inside anyway.
@Chloecleroux: Chloe Crane-Leroux
Split between New York and Montreal, Chloe Crane-Leroux’s feed features everything from cafe’s to fashion to street scenes- all tinted with a cool fashion gal vibe.
